Fexofenadine hydrochloride 120 mg + Montelukast 10 mg
Allegra M Tablet is used for allergic rhinitis (seasonal/perennial) with symptoms such as sneezing, runny/blocked nose, itchy/watery eyes; allergy symptoms where leukotriene-mediated congestion is prominent.
Medically reviewed by Dr. Balaji Krishnan, MBBS · Updated August 2026
Allegra M Tablet contains Fexofenadine hydrochloride 120 mg + Montelukast 10 mg. It belongs to the Second-generation H1 antihistamine + Leukotriene receptor antagonist (LTRA) class of medicines.
Fexofenadine is a second-generation H1 antihistamine that blocks histamine action to relieve sneezing, itching and watery eyes. Montelukast is a leukotriene receptor antagonist that blocks leukotriene D4, helping reduce nasal congestion and allergy-related inflammation.
Tablet for oral use. Take as prescribed, usually once daily, with or without food; swallow whole with water. Avoid taking with fruit juices (apple/orange/grapefruit) close to the dose as they may reduce fexofenadine absorption.
Take it exactly as your doctor prescribed. Do not change the dose or stop early on your own.
Take the missed dose of Allegra M as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for the next dose, skip the missed one and carry on with the usual schedule. Do not take two doses together to make up for a missed dose.
Taking more Allegra M than prescribed can be harmful. If you suspect an overdose, contact a doctor or go to the nearest emergency department at once, and carry the pack or strip with you. In India the emergency number is 112.
Most side effects of Allegra M are mild and settle as the body adjusts. Reported side effects include:
Stop the medicine and seek help immediately for a rash, swelling of the face or lips, wheezing or difficulty breathing. Tell your doctor about any side effect that persists or worries you.

Use with caution in kidney impairment (fexofenadine) and in patients with history of neuropsychiatric symptoms (montelukast). Montelukast has been associated with mood/behavior changes (agitation, anxiety, sleep disturbance, depression, suicidal thoughts); stop and seek medical advice if such symptoms occur. Not for acute asthma attacks. May cause dizziness in some patients—use caution while driving. Inform doctor about all medicines and allergies.
Fruit juices (apple/orange/grapefruit) may reduce fexofenadine absorption; antacids containing aluminium/magnesium may reduce absorption (separate by 2 hours); erythromycin/ketoconazole may increase fexofenadine levels; rifampicin may reduce montelukast levels; gemfibrozil may increase montelukast exposure
Store at room temperature (below 25°C), protected from moisture and light. Keep in original blister pack and out of reach of children.
