Aloja-M Forte Tablet is a combination of two antidiabetic medicines, alogliptin and metformin. Alogliptin works by increasing the release of insulin from the pancreas and decreasing the hormones responsible for raising blood sugar levels. Metformin limits the absorption of glucose from food and reduces the production of glucose by the liver. Metformin also increases the body's response to insulin.

Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Aloja-M Forte Tablet may be taken with or without food.

Not for anyone with a known allergy to this medicine or to any ingredient in the pack. Not for type 1 diabetes or for diabetic ketoacidosis. Not for people with severe kidney disease, severe liver disease, or an acute illness causing dehydration. Not for people who have had diabetic ketoacidosis.
Interactions with other medicines
Low blood sugar is more likely when this is combined with a sulfonylurea or insulin; your doctor may lower that dose. Tell your doctor about water tablets, steroids, and any contrast dye scan. Alcohol increases the risk of the rare acid build-up and should be limited.
