How Aquamet Nasal Spray works

Aquamet Nasal Spray is a steroid. It gets absorbed into the cells of the inner surface of the nose and works by blocking the production of certain chemical messengers that cause inflammation (swelling) and allergies. This relieves blocked or runny nose, sneezing and sinus discomfort, and other symptoms caused by nasal congestion and nasal polyps.

How to take Aquamet Nasal Spray

1. Shake well before use, 2. Tilt head slightly forward, 3. Insert nozzle into nostril, 4. Press down on the nozzle to spray, 5. Breathe gently through the nose, 6. Repeat in the other nostril

Missed dose and overdose

If you miss a dose

If you miss a dose of Aquamet Nasal Spray, use it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.

Warnings and precautions

Use it only on the area and for the number of days your doctor specified. Potent steroid creams thin the skin permanently when used for too long. Never use a potent steroid cream on the face, the groin or the underarms unless your doctor has specifically told you to — the skin there is thin and absorbs much more. Do not use it on an infection. A steroid on ringworm, impetigo or herpes makes the infection worse while hiding it. Do not use leftover cream on a new rash, and never pass it to someone else. Store below 30°C, away from direct sunlight. Do not freeze. Keep out of the reach of children.

Do not use Aquamet Nasal Spray on deep skin wounds, blistered skin, severe burns, or large skin areas. Apply to the skin only. Avoid sensitive areas such as your eyes, mouth/nose, and the vaginal/groin area. After applying Aquamet Nasal Spray, remember to wash your hands (unless your hands are the treated area). If you are allergic to any ingredients in Aquamet Nasal Spray, do not use the product. If you are not sure, please consult a dermatologist. Do not bathe immediately after applying Aquamet Nasal Spray. Leave it for at least two hours after application. If applying this product to the feet, cover your feet with socks for the best results.
