Favipiravir 200 mg (tablet)
Treatment of mild to moderate COVID-19 infection (as per prevailing local guidelines/label); investigational/off-label use has been reported for other RNA viral infections.
Favipiravir is an antiviral that is converted in the body to an active ribofuranosyl triphosphate form. It inhibits viral RNA-dependent RNA polymerase, thereby preventing replication of susceptible RNA viruses.
Take by mouth as prescribed by a doctor. Usually taken after food with water at the same time(s) each day; do not crush/chew unless advised. Dose and duration depend on indication and clinical guidelines.

Prescription-only antiviral; use only under medical supervision. Contraindicated/not recommended in pregnancy; women of childbearing potential should use effective contraception during treatment and for a period after stopping (per prescriber advice). Men should use contraception during treatment and after stopping (per prescriber advice) due to potential risk to fetus. Use with caution in liver disease, renal impairment and in patients with gout/hyperuricaemia; monitor liver function and uric acid as advised. Stop and seek care if severe rash/allergy occurs.
