How Benebact Suspn works

Probiotics are beneficial live microorganisms that help restore and maintain healthy gut flora. They suppress growth of harmful bacteria, improve gut barrier function and support digestion, which can reduce diarrhoea and abdominal discomfort.

How to take Benebact Suspn

Oral suspension: Shake well before use. Take as advised by a doctor; may be taken with or without food. If taking with antibiotics, keep a gap of about 2 hours. Measure the dose accurately using a dropper/spoon.

Take it exactly as your doctor prescribed. Do not change the dose or stop early on your own.

Missed dose and overdose

If you miss a dose

Take the missed dose of Benebact Suspn as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for the next dose, skip the missed one and carry on with the usual schedule. Do not take two doses together to make up for a missed dose.

If you take too much

Taking more Benebact Suspn than prescribed can be harmful. If you suspect an overdose, contact a doctor or go to the nearest emergency department at once, and carry the pack or strip with you. In India the emergency number is 112.

Side effects of Benebact Suspn

Most side effects of Benebact Suspn are mild and settle as the body adjusts. Reported side effects include:

• abdominal discomfort
• constipation
• mild diarrhoea

Stop the medicine and seek help immediately for a rash, swelling of the face or lips, wheezing or difficulty breathing. Tell your doctor about any side effect that persists or worries you.

Warnings and precautions

Use with caution in immunocompromised patients, critically ill patients, those with central venous catheters, or premature infants (risk of infection is rare). Stop and consult a doctor if severe diarrhoea, fever, blood in stools, persistent vomiting, or dehydration occurs. Not a substitute for rehydration therapy in acute diarrhoea. If allergic to any component, avoid use.

Interactions with other medicines

Antibiotics (may reduce probiotic effect; separate dosing by 2 hours), Antifungals (may reduce yeast-based probiotics), Immunosuppressants (use with caution)

How to store Benebact Suspn

Store in a cool, dry place away from direct light and moisture. Keep tightly closed. Do not freeze. Follow label instructions for any refrigeration requirement after opening.
