Bipacef 500 Tablet contains Cefuroxime (500mg).
Treatment of Bacterial infections
Bipacef 500 Tablet is an antibiotic. It kills bacteria by preventing them from forming the bacterial protective covering (cell wall), which is needed for them to survive.
Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Bipacef 500 Tablet may be taken with or without food.
Take it exactly as your doctor prescribed. Do not change the dose or stop early on your own.
If you miss a dose of Bipacef 500 Tablet, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.
Taking more Bipacef than prescribed can be harmful. If you suspect an overdose, contact a doctor or go to the nearest emergency department at once, and carry the pack or strip with you. In India the emergency number is 112.
Most side effects of Bipacef are mild and settle as the body adjusts. Reported side effects include:
Stop the medicine and seek help immediately for a rash, swelling of the face or lips, wheezing or difficulty breathing. Tell your doctor about any side effect that persists or worries you.

Tell your doctor or pharmacist about every medicine you take, including over-the-counter products, vitamins and herbal or ayurvedic preparations, before starting Bipacef. Some combinations can change how Bipacef works or raise the chance of side effects.
Store Bipacef below 30°C in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and moisture. Keep the pack tightly closed and out of the reach of children. Do not use it after the expiry date printed on the pack.
Complete the full course of Bipacef 500 Tablet exactly as prescribed, even if you start feeling better. Stopping Bipacef 500 Tablet early may allow the infection to return and become harder to treat. Diarrhea may occur while taking Bipacef 500 Tablet; stay hydrated and consult your doctor if it becomes severe or persistent. Drink plenty of fluids if diarrhea occurs and watch for signs of dehydration. Stop taking Bipacef 500 Tablet and seek immediate medical help if you develop a rash, itching, swelling of the face or mouth, or difficulty breathing. Inform your doctor if you have previously had allergic reactions to penicillin or cephalosporin antibiotics. Consult your doctor if symptoms do not improve within a few days of starting treatment. Report severe stomach pain, persistent vomiting, or signs of dehydration to your doctor promptly. Notify your doctor if you develop symptoms such as itching or discharge that may indicate a yeast infection after antibiotic use.
