Composition of Calplex Capsule

Calplex Capsule contains Riboflavin (10mg) + Thiamine (10mg) + Pyridoxine (3mg) + Niacinamide (50mg) + Cyanocobalamin (15mcg) + Calcium Pantothenate (50mg) + Tocopheryl (25mg). It belongs to the Vitamin B-complex with Vitamin E (antioxidant) class of medicines.

How Calplex Capsule works

This capsule provides essential B-group vitamins needed for energy metabolism, red blood cell formation and proper nerve function. Vitamin E acts as an antioxidant, helping protect cells from oxidative damage and supporting overall health.

How to take Calplex Capsule

Take as directed by physician. Generally 1 capsule once daily after food, swallowed whole with water. Do not exceed the recommended dose.

Take it exactly as your doctor prescribed. Do not change the dose or stop early on your own.

Missed dose and overdose

If you miss a dose

Take it as soon as you remember. If your next dose is almost due, skip the one you missed — never take two doses together to catch up.

If you take too much

An overdose of this medicine is unlikely to cause serious harm, because the body passes surplus B vitamins out in the urine. It in very large doses taken over months can itself damage nerves, causing numbness and unsteadiness. It can cause vomiting, stomach pain and, with some minerals, damage over the longer term. Do not wait for symptoms to appear — go to the nearest emergency department and take the pack or strip with you.

Warnings and precautions

Use with caution in patients with known hypersensitivity to any component. If you have chronic liver disease, peptic ulcer, gout or uncontrolled diabetes, consult a doctor before use (niacinamide at high doses may affect liver/glucose/uric acid; this product contains moderate dose). Stop and seek medical advice if rash, swelling or breathing difficulty occurs. Not a substitute for a balanced diet.

Interactions with other medicines

Levodopa (without carbidopa) may be affected by pyridoxine; isoniazid/penicillamine may increase vitamin B6 requirement; chloramphenicol can blunt hematologic response to vitamin B12; metformin and PPIs may reduce B12 levels; alcohol may worsen vitamin deficiency.
