Treatment and prevention of vitamin D deficiency, adjunct in osteoporosis/osteopenia, rickets/osteomalacia, deficiency due to limited sun exposure or malabsorption
Cholecalciferol is converted in the body to active vitamin D, which increases absorption of calcium and phosphate from the intestine. It helps maintain normal blood calcium levels and supports bone mineralisation and muscle function.
Oral tablet. Usually taken once weekly or as prescribed (commonly 60,000 IU weekly for 6–8 weeks, then monthly maintenance as advised). Take with or after food (preferably a meal containing fat) for better absorption. Swallow with water; do not exceed prescribed dose.

A substitute contains the same active ingredient (salt), in the same strength, as Calrig 60K Tab. The medicine inside is the same — the brand name, manufacturer and price are what differ.
All medicines sold in India, branded or generic, must meet the quality standards set by the national drug regulator (CDSCO). A lower price does not mean lower quality.
Please confirm with your doctor or pharmacist before switching brands — they will check that the strength and form match your prescription.
Use only under medical advice if you have kidney disease, kidney stones, hypercalcaemia, hyperparathyroidism, sarcoidosis or other granulomatous disorders. Overdose can cause vitamin D toxicity with high calcium (confusion, severe vomiting, dehydration, arrhythmias). Monitor calcium/phosphate and renal function in long-term/high-dose use. Not a substitute for calcium if dietary intake is low unless advised.
