How Conflu 200 mg Capsule works

Fluconazole is a triazole antifungal that inhibits fungal CYP450 enzyme 14‑alpha‑demethylase, reducing ergosterol synthesis. This disrupts the fungal cell membrane, stopping growth and leading to fungal cell death.

How to take Conflu 200 mg Capsule

Capsule for oral use. Take exactly as prescribed, usually once daily; may be taken with or without food. Swallow whole with water and complete the full course; dose and duration depend on infection type and kidney function.

Take it exactly as your doctor prescribed. Do not change the dose or stop early on your own.

Missed dose and overdose

If you miss a dose

Take it as soon as you remember. If your next dose is almost due, skip the one you missed — never take two doses together to catch up.

If you take too much

An overdose of this medicine can cause vomiting, liver injury and heart rhythm disturbance. Do not wait for symptoms to appear — go to the nearest emergency department and take the pack or strip with you.

Side effects of Conflu 200 mg Capsule

Most side effects of Conflu are mild and settle as the body adjusts. Reported side effects include:

• taste changes
• increased liver enzymes

Stop the medicine and seek help immediately for a rash, swelling of the face or lips, wheezing or difficulty breathing. Tell your doctor about any side effect that persists or worries you.

Warnings and precautions

Prescription-only antifungal. Use with caution in liver disease (risk of hepatitis), kidney impairment (dose adjustment may be needed), and in patients with heart rhythm problems/long QT (risk of QT prolongation). Stop and seek care if severe rash/blistering, jaundice, dark urine, persistent vomiting, or allergic reaction occurs. Not for self-treatment of undiagnosed infections; ensure correct diagnosis.

Do not take Conflu if

Not for anyone with a known allergy to this medicine or to any ingredient in the pack. Not for people with active liver disease, and several are not for use in pregnancy. Itraconazole is not for people with heart failure.

Interactions with other medicines

Warfarin/other anticoagulants (↑bleeding), phenytoin, carbamazepine, cyclosporine, tacrolimus, sulfonylureas (hypoglycaemia), rifampicin (↓fluconazole levels), zidovudine, theophylline, statins (e.g., simvastatin/atorvastatin—↑myopathy risk), benzodiazepines (e.g., midazolam), QT-prolonging drugs (e.g., amiodarone, quinidine, erythromycin). Contraindicated/avoid with drugs highly dependent on CYP3A4 that prolong QT (e.g., cisapride, terfenadine at high doses, pimozide) where applicable.

Store below 25°C in a cool, dry place. Protect from moisture and direct light. Keep out of reach of children.

Complete the full course, however long. Keep the skin clean and dry, wash clothes and bedding in hot water, and treat family members if they are affected, or reinfection is very likely.
