How to take Dapazep M 10/500 Tablet
Oral tablet. Take exactly as prescribed. Metformin-containing tablets are usually taken with meals to reduce stomach upset. Maintain adequate hydration; do not crush/chew unless advised.

An overdose of this medicine can cause dehydration and a fall in blood pressure. It can cause a dangerous build-up of acid in the blood, with vomiting, severe weakness and laboured breathing. Dapagliflozin may cause dehydration/low blood pressure and genital mycotic infections; rarely ketoacidosis can occur even with near-normal glucose—seek urgent care for nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, rapid breathing. Temporarily stop during major surgery or severe illness and before iodinated contrast as advised by doctor. Use caution in elderly and those on diuretics. Not for type 1 diabetes.

Not for anyone with a known allergy to this medicine or to any ingredient in the pack. Not for type 1 diabetes or for diabetic ketoacidosis. Not for people with severe kidney disease. Not for people with severe kidney disease, severe liver disease, or an acute illness causing dehydration. Not for people who have had diabetic ketoacidosis.
Interactions with other medicines
Diuretics (increased dehydration/hypotension), insulin/sulfonylureas (increased hypoglycaemia risk), ACE inhibitors/ARBs (may increase risk of low BP with SGLT2), iodinated contrast media (increased lactic acidosis risk—metformin may need to be withheld), alcohol (increases lactic acidosis risk), cationic drugs affecting renal tubular secretion e.g., cimetidine (may increase metformin levels)
