Empagliflozin 25 mg + Linagliptin 5 mg
Type 2 diabetes mellitus: to improve glycaemic control in adults as an adjunct to diet and exercise, when treatment with empagliflozin and linagliptin is appropriate (including add-on to other antidiabetic medicines).
Empagliflozin is an SGLT2 inhibitor that lowers blood glucose by increasing urinary glucose excretion via the kidneys. Linagliptin is a DPP-4 inhibitor that increases incretin levels (GLP-1, GIP), enhancing insulin secretion and reducing glucagon release in a glucose-dependent manner.
Oral tablet. Typically taken once daily at the same time each day, with or without food, as prescribed by a doctor. Swallow whole with water; do not crush/chew. Maintain hydration and follow diet/exercise advice.

A substitute contains the same active ingredient (salt), in the same strength, as Empaben L 25/5MG Tab. The medicine inside is the same — the brand name, manufacturer and price are what differ.
All medicines sold in India, branded or generic, must meet the quality standards set by the national drug regulator (CDSCO). A lower price does not mean lower quality.
Please confirm with your doctor or pharmacist before switching brands — they will check that the strength and form match your prescription.
Prescription-only antidiabetic. Risk of dehydration/low blood pressure (especially elderly or on diuretics); maintain adequate fluids. SGLT2 inhibitors may rarely cause ketoacidosis—seek urgent care for nausea/vomiting, abdominal pain, fast breathing, unusual tiredness. Increased risk of genital mycotic infections and UTIs; maintain hygiene and report symptoms. Temporarily stop before major surgery/acute serious illness as advised. Use caution in kidney impairment; empagliflozin efficacy reduces with low eGFR and may be contraindicated in severe renal failure—doctor to monitor renal function. Rare risk of pancreatitis with DPP-4 inhibitors; stop and consult if severe abdominal pain. Not indicated for type 1 diabetes.
