Ezact MR Tablet contains Thiocolchicoside (4mg) + Etoricoxib (60mg). It belongs to the Centrally acting muscle relaxant and Non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug class of medicines.

How Ezact MR Tablet works

Ezact MR Tablet is a combination of two medicines: Etoricoxib and Thiocolchicoside, which relieves pain and relaxes the muscles. Etoricoxib is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) which works by blocking the release of certain chemical messengers that cause pain and inflammation (redness and swelling). Thiocolchicoside is a muscle relaxant. It works on the centers in the brain and spinal cord to relieve muscle stiffness or spasm and to improve pain and movement of muscles.

How to take Ezact MR Tablet

Take as prescribed by a physician. It is generally advised to take tablets with water after food unless instructed otherwise.

Take it exactly as your doctor prescribed. Do not change the dose or stop early on your own.

Missed dose and overdose

If you miss a dose

Take it as soon as you remember. If your next dose is almost due, skip the one you missed — never take two doses together to catch up.

If you take too much

An overdose of this medicine can cause deep drowsiness, muscle weakness, a fall in blood pressure and slowed breathing. It can cause stomach bleeding, kidney failure, drowsiness and fits. Do not wait for symptoms to appear — go to the nearest emergency department and take the pack or strip with you.

Most side effects of Ezact MR are mild and settle as the body adjusts. Reported side effects include:

Warnings and precautions

Insufficient information from product name alone. Avoid self-medication; consult a doctor, especially if pregnant, breastfeeding, elderly, or taking other medicines.

Do not take Ezact MR if

Not for anyone with a known allergy to this medicine or to any ingredient in the pack. Not for people with myasthenia gravis or severe liver disease. Not for people with an active stomach ulcer, severe kidney or heart failure, or asthma triggered by aspirin or anti-inflammatory painkillers. Not in the third trimester of pregnancy.

Interactions with other medicines

Alcohol, sleeping tablets, antihistamines and opioid painkillers all add to the drowsiness, sometimes dangerously. Combining with a blood thinner or aspirin sharply raises the bleeding risk. Reduces the effect of blood pressure medicines and water tablets, and together with them can harm the kidneys. Never take two anti-inflammatory painkillers at the same time.

Store below 25°C in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and moisture.

Coxi MR 60mg/4mg Tablet helps relieve pain due to muscle spasm. Take it without food for quicker relief. It may cause dizziness and fatigue. Do not drive or do anything requiring concentration until you know how it affects you. Avoid consuming alcohol when taking Coxi MR 60mg/4mg Tablet as it may cause excessive drowsiness.  Regularly monitor your blood pressure while taking this medicine, particularly in the first two weeks after starting treatment. Inform your doctor if you have a history of stomach ulcers, heart diseases, high blood pressure, and liver or kidney disease. Inform your doctor if you notice yellowing of eyes or skin, dark urine, or stomach pain.
