Cefixime 50 mg/5 ml (dry syrup)
Treatment of susceptible bacterial infections such as upper/lower respiratory tract infections (pharyngitis/tonsillitis, bronchitis), acute otitis media, sinusitis, and uncomplicated urinary tract infections.
Cefixime is a third-generation cephalosporin antibiotic. It kills bacteria by inhibiting bacterial cell wall synthesis, leading to cell lysis and death.
Oral dry syrup: Reconstitute with boiled and cooled water up to the mark, shake well. Measure dose with a calibrated spoon/cup and give as prescribed, with or without food (preferably after food if stomach upset occurs). Shake well before each dose and complete the full course.

Use only for bacterial infections. Inform doctor if allergic to cephalosporins/penicillins. Use with caution in kidney disease; dose adjustment may be needed. Prolonged use may cause superinfection (e.g., fungal) or C. difficile-associated diarrhoea—seek care for severe/persistent diarrhoea. Monitor for signs of hypersensitivity (rash, swelling, breathing difficulty).
