Cefixime 50 mg/5 ml (dry syrup)
Treatment of susceptible bacterial infections such as upper/lower respiratory tract infections (pharyngitis/tonsillitis, bronchitis), acute otitis media, sinusitis, and uncomplicated urinary tract infections.
Cefixime is a third-generation cephalosporin antibiotic. It kills bacteria by inhibiting bacterial cell wall synthesis, leading to cell lysis and death.
Oral dry syrup: Reconstitute with boiled and cooled water up to the mark, shake well. Measure dose with a calibrated spoon/cup and give as prescribed, with or without food (preferably after food if stomach upset occurs). Shake well before each dose and complete the full course.

A substitute contains the same active ingredient (salt), in the same strength, as Finecef 50 Dry Syrup. The medicine inside is the same — the brand name, manufacturer and price are what differ.
All medicines sold in India, branded or generic, must meet the quality standards set by the national drug regulator (CDSCO). A lower price does not mean lower quality.
Please confirm with your doctor or pharmacist before switching brands — they will check that the strength and form match your prescription.
Use only for bacterial infections. Inform doctor if allergic to cephalosporins/penicillins. Use with caution in kidney disease; dose adjustment may be needed. Prolonged use may cause superinfection (e.g., fungal) or C. difficile-associated diarrhoea—seek care for severe/persistent diarrhoea. Monitor for signs of hypersensitivity (rash, swelling, breathing difficulty).
