How Glorimet Pg 2 works

Glorimet PG 2 Tablet is a combination of three antidiabetic medicines: Glimepiride, Metformin and Pioglitazone. They work by different mechanisms to provide better control of blood sugar when single or dual therapy is not effective. Glimepiride is a sulfonylurea which works by increasing the amount of insulin released by the pancreas in order to lower the blood glucose. Metformin is a biguanide. It works by lowering glucose production in the liver, delaying glucose absorption from intestines and increasing the body's sensitivity to insulin. Pioglitazone is a thiazolidinedione which further increases insulin sensitivity.

How to take Glorimet Pg 2

Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Glorimet PG 2 Tablet is to be taken with food.<br>Glorimet PG 2 Tablet may cause stomach upset if taken empty stomach.

Missed dose and overdose

If you miss a dose

Take the missed dose of Glorimet Pg as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for the next dose, skip the missed one and carry on with the usual schedule. Do not take two doses together to make up for a missed dose.

LiverGlorimet PG 2 Tablet should be used with caution in patients with liver disease. Dose adjustment of Glorimet PG 2 Tablet may be needed. Please consult your doctor.<br>Use of Glorimet PG 2 Tablet is not recommended in patients with severe liver disease.
