Composition of Triglimisave 2 Tablet

Triglimisave 2 Tablet contains Glimepiride (2mg) + Metformin (500mg) + Pioglitazone (15mg). It belongs to the Sulfonylurea, Biguanide and Oral anti-diabetic class of medicines.

How Triglimisave 2 Tablet works

Triglimisave 2 Tablet is an anti-diabetic medicine used to lower high blood glucose. Depending on its actual salt(s), it may work by increasing insulin release from the pancreas and/or improving the body’s response to insulin and reducing glucose production/absorption.

How to take Triglimisave 2 Tablet

Take by mouth exactly as prescribed by your doctor. Commonly taken once daily with food (often with breakfast) to reduce stomach upset/low sugar risk. Swallow whole with water; do not skip meals; monitor blood glucose regularly.

Take it exactly as your doctor prescribed. Do not change the dose or stop early on your own.

Missed dose and overdose

If you miss a dose

If you miss a dose of Triglimisave 2 Tablet SR, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.

If you take too much

An overdose of this medicine can cause severe and prolonged low blood sugar, which may lead to fits or unconsciousness. It can cause a dangerous build-up of acid in the blood, with vomiting, severe weakness and laboured breathing. It may cause low blood sugar and marked stomach upset. Do not wait for symptoms to appear — go to the nearest emergency department and take the pack or strip with you.

Side effects of Triglimisave 2 Tablet

Most side effects of Triglimisave are mild and settle as the body adjusts. Reported side effects include:

• headache
• dizziness
• weight gain
• skin rash

Stop the medicine and seek help immediately for a rash, swelling of the face or lips, wheezing or difficulty breathing. Tell your doctor about any side effect that persists or worries you.

Warnings and precautions

Risk of hypoglycaemia, especially if meals are skipped, with alcohol use, or with other anti-diabetics/insulin. Use caution in kidney or liver disease; dose adjustments/avoidance may be needed depending on ingredients. Inform doctor if you have heart disease, dehydration, severe infection, or are undergoing surgery; some diabetes medicines may need temporary stoppage. Seek urgent care for severe low sugar (confusion, sweating, fainting) or allergic reactions.

Do not take Triglimisave if

Not for anyone with a known allergy to this medicine or to any ingredient in the pack. Not for type 1 diabetes or for diabetic ketoacidosis. Not for people with severe kidney or liver disease. Not for people with severe kidney disease, severe liver disease, or an acute illness causing dehydration. Not for people who have had diabetic ketoacidosis. Not for people with heart failure, active bladder cancer or unexplained blood in the urine.

Interactions with other medicines

Other antidiabetics/insulin (increased hypoglycaemia risk), alcohol (increased hypoglycaemia risk), beta-blockers (may mask hypoglycaemia symptoms), corticosteroids and diuretics (may raise blood sugar), certain antibiotics/antifungals (may alter glucose control), ACE inhibitors/ARBs (may enhance glucose-lowering)

Store at room temperature (below 25°C), in original strip, protected from moisture and direct light. Keep out of reach of children.

Expert advice for Triglimisave 2 Tablet

Take it with food to lower your chance of having an upset stomach. It may cause hypoglycemia (low blood sugar level) when used with other antidiabetic medicines, alcohol or if you delay or miss a meal. Always carry some sugary food or fruit juice with you in case you experience hypoglycemic symptoms such as cold sweats, cool pale skin, tremor, and anxiety. Your doctor may check your liver function regularly. Inform your doctor if you develop symptoms such as abdominal pain, loss of appetite, or yellowing of the eyes or skin (jaundice).
