Ibithral 200 Suspension contains Ibuprofen 200 mg/5 mL oral suspension (strength per 5 mL). It belongs to the NSAID (propionic acid derivative) class of medicines.

How Ibithral 200 Suspension works

Ibuprofen is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) that inhibits cyclo-oxygenase (COX-1 and COX-2) enzymes. This reduces prostaglandin production, thereby decreasing pain, fever and inflammation.

How to take Ibithral 200 Suspension

Oral suspension: shake well before use. Measure dose with a calibrated cup/spoon and take preferably after food or with milk to reduce stomach upset. Dose and duration should be as prescribed; use the lowest effective dose for the shortest time.

Take it exactly as your doctor prescribed. Do not change the dose or stop early on your own.

Missed dose and overdose

Warnings and precautions

Risk of stomach bleeding/ulcer increases with higher doses, longer use, alcohol, smoking, or use with steroids/anticoagulants. Stop and seek medical help if black stools, blood vomiting, severe abdominal pain, facial swelling, breathing difficulty, or severe skin reactions occur. Not for use in children without medical advice; ensure correct dosing by weight/age.

Do not take Ibithral if

Not for anyone with a known allergy to this medicine or to any ingredient in the pack. Not for people with an active stomach ulcer, severe kidney or heart failure, or asthma triggered by aspirin or anti-inflammatory painkillers. Not in the third trimester of pregnancy.
