How Ironize Xt Tablet works

Iron replenishes body iron stores and supports haemoglobin formation for oxygen transport. Folic acid supports DNA synthesis and red blood cell production; vitamin B12 (if present) helps maturation of red blood cells.

How to take Ironize Xt Tablet

Tablet/capsule: take as prescribed, usually once daily. Preferably take after food if it causes stomach upset; avoid taking with tea/coffee/milk and calcium/antacids close to the dose (keep 2–3 hours gap). Swallow whole with water.

Take it exactly as your doctor prescribed. Do not change the dose or stop early on your own.

Missed dose and overdose

If you miss a dose

Take the missed dose of Ironize Xt as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for the next dose, skip the missed one and carry on with the usual schedule. Do not take two doses together to make up for a missed dose.

If you take too much

Taking more Ironize Xt than prescribed can be harmful. If you suspect an overdose, contact a doctor or go to the nearest emergency department at once, and carry the pack or strip with you. In India the emergency number is 112.

Side effects of Ironize Xt Tablet

Most side effects of Ironize Xt are mild and settle as the body adjusts. Reported side effects include:

• Nausea
• constipation
• diarrhoea
• stomach pain
• heartburn
• vomiting
• metallic taste
• dark/black stools

Stop the medicine and seek help immediately for a rash, swelling of the face or lips, wheezing or difficulty breathing. Tell your doctor about any side effect that persists or worries you.

Safety advice for Ironize Xt Tablet

Warnings and precautions

Do not use in iron overload conditions (e.g., haemochromatosis/haemosiderosis) unless advised. Use with caution in peptic ulcer disease, inflammatory bowel disease, or history of gastric irritation. Keep out of reach of children—iron overdose can be fatal. If you notice severe abdominal pain, persistent vomiting, blood in stools, or allergic symptoms, seek medical help.

Interactions with other medicines

Antacids, calcium supplements, dairy products, tea/coffee (reduce absorption), tetracyclines/quinolones (reduced antibiotic absorption), levothyroxine, bisphosphonates, penicillamine, methyldopa, levodopa, zinc/magnesium supplements (separate by 2–4 hours)

How to store Ironize Xt Tablet

Store below 25°C in a cool, dry place, protected from light and moisture. Keep container tightly closed.
