How to take Laxicon 100 mg Tablet

Take it exactly as your doctor prescribed. Do not change the dose or stop early on your own.

Missed dose and overdose

If you miss a dose

If you miss a dose of LAXICON TABLET, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.

If you take too much

An overdose of this medicine can cause severe loose motions, dehydration and salt imbalance. Do not wait for symptoms to appear — go to the nearest emergency department and take the pack or strip with you.

Warnings and precautions

Drink plenty of water while taking any laxative, particularly the fibre-based ones — without it they can make constipation worse. Do not use stimulant laxatives daily over long periods without medical advice; the bowel becomes reliant on them. See a doctor if constipation is new and persistent in an adult over forty, or comes with blood, weight loss or severe pain.

Do not take Laxicon if

Not for anyone with a known allergy to this medicine or to any ingredient in the pack. Not for anyone with a suspected bowel obstruction, or with severe abdominal pain of unknown cause.

Interactions with other medicines

Laxatives can reduce the absorption of other medicines taken at the same time.

Store below 30°C in the original pack, away from direct sunlight and moisture. Keep out of the reach of children.

Together with LAXICON TABLET, fiber rich diet containing whole grain bread and cereals, bran, fruits and green leafy vegetables, is essential to maintain healthy bowel function. Avoid taking a LAXICON TABLET for more than 1 week, unless prescribed by the doctor, as it leads to dependency on the laxative action to produce a bowel movement. Take LAXICON TABLET after 2 hours from other medicines, as it may interfere with the absorption of other medicines. A LAXICON TABLET should be preferably taken at bedtime because it requires 6 to 8 hours to show impact. LAXICON TABLET may be taken with milk or fruit juice to improve the flavor.
