Composition of Levolin 1 Tablet

Levolin 1 Tablet contains Levosalbutamol (Levalbuterol) 1 mg. It belongs to the Short-acting beta-2 agonist (SABA) class of medicines.

How Levolin 1 Tablet works

Levosalbutamol is a selective beta-2 adrenergic agonist. It relaxes smooth muscles in the airways, leading to bronchodilation and improved airflow, thereby relieving bronchospasm symptoms.

How to take Levolin 1 Tablet

Tablet: Take as prescribed by the doctor, usually with or without food. Swallow with water at the same time each day; do not exceed the recommended dose. If a dose is missed, take it when remembered unless it is close to the next dose.

Take it exactly as your doctor prescribed. Do not change the dose or stop early on your own.

Missed dose and overdose

If you miss a dose

Take it as soon as you remember. If your next dose is almost due, skip the one you missed — never take two doses together to catch up.

If you take too much

An overdose of this medicine can cause a racing heart, marked tremor, headache and a fall in blood potassium. Do not wait for symptoms to appear — go to the nearest emergency department and take the pack or strip with you.

Most side effects of Levolin are mild and settle as the body adjusts. Reported side effects include:

Warnings and precautions

Use with caution in heart disease (arrhythmias, ischemic heart disease), hypertension, hyperthyroidism, diabetes, seizure disorders, and in patients sensitive to sympathomimetics. May cause hypokalemia; caution if on diuretics or with severe asthma. Seek medical help if breathing worsens or if there is no relief. Do not use more often or at higher doses than prescribed.

Interactions with other medicines

Beta-blockers (may reduce effect/trigger bronchospasm), diuretics (increased risk of hypokalemia), digoxin (reduced digoxin levels), MAO inhibitors or tricyclic antidepressants (enhanced cardiovascular effects), other sympathomimetics (additive side effects), theophylline (additive stimulation)

Store below 25°C in a dry place, protected from light and moisture. Keep out of reach of children.
