How Nucoxia D3 Capsule works

Nucoxia D3 Capsule is a combination of two medicines: etoricoxib and vitamin D3 which relieve pain. Etoricoxib is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) which works by blocking the release of certain chemical messengers that cause pain and inflammation (redness and swelling). Vitamin D3 regulates the levels of calcium in the body to prevent loss of bone.

How to take Nucoxia D3 Capsule

Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Nucoxia D3 Capsule may be taken with or without food.

Take it exactly as your doctor prescribed. Do not change the dose or stop early on your own.

Missed dose and overdose

If you miss a dose

If you miss a dose of Nucoxia D3 Capsule, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.

If you take too much

An overdose of this medicine can cause stomach bleeding, kidney failure, drowsiness and fits. It can raise blood calcium dangerously, causing thirst, frequent urination, vomiting, confusion and kidney damage. Do not wait for symptoms to appear — go to the nearest emergency department and take the pack or strip with you.

Stop and seek urgent care for black or tarry stools, vomiting blood, or severe stomach pain — this group can cause bleeding from the stomach. Long or high-dose use raises the risk of heart attack, stroke and kidney injury, particularly in older people and those already at risk. Avoid if you are dehydrated or have an illness with vomiting or loose motions — the kidneys are vulnerable then. Must be avoided in the last three months of pregnancy. Not for people with a high blood calcium level, or with certain kidney stones.

Interactions with other medicines

Combining with a blood thinner or aspirin sharply raises the bleeding risk. Reduces the effect of blood pressure medicines and water tablets, and together with them can harm the kidneys. Never take two anti-inflammatory painkillers at the same time. Calcium reduces the absorption of thyroid tablets, several antibiotics and iron — separate them by a few hours. Water tablets of the thiazide group raise calcium further when combined.
