Cefixime 200 mg + Clavulanic acid 125 mg (as potassium clavulanate) per tablet
Treatment of susceptible bacterial infections such as respiratory tract infections (acute bronchitis, pneumonia), ENT infections (sinusitis, tonsillitis/pharyngitis, otitis media), urinary tract infections, and typhoid fever where combination therapy is advised by a doctor.
Cefixime is a third-generation cephalosporin antibiotic that inhibits bacterial cell wall synthesis leading to bacterial death. Clavulanic acid is a beta-lactamase inhibitor that protects cefixime from degradation by beta-lactamase–producing bacteria, helping broaden activity against resistant strains.
Tablet: take exactly as prescribed by the doctor. Usually taken once daily or as advised; may be taken with or without food (taking with food may reduce stomach upset). Swallow whole with water and complete the full course even if you feel better.
Common side effects of OMNATAX CV 200 may include:
Prescription-only antibiotic. Do not use in viral infections. Inform doctor if you have allergy to cephalosporins/penicillins/beta-lactams, history of severe rash, colitis, kidney disease, or liver disease.
