How Omnatax Cv 200 works

Warnings and precautions

Prescription-only antibiotic. Do not use in viral infections. Inform doctor if you have allergy to cephalosporins/penicillins/beta-lactams, history of severe rash, colitis, kidney disease, or liver disease. Diarrhoea can occur; seek medical help for severe/persistent diarrhoea or blood in stools (risk of C. difficile). Use cautiously in renal impairment (dose adjustment may be needed). May reduce effectiveness of oral typhoid vaccine; complete course as directed.

Interactions with other medicines

Warfarin/other anticoagulants (increased bleeding risk/INR), probenecid (may increase cefixime levels), antacids containing magnesium/aluminium (may reduce absorption if taken together), live oral typhoid vaccine (reduced effect), other nephrotoxic drugs (monitor kidney function)

Store below 25°C in a dry place, protected from light and moisture. Keep out of reach of children.

Talk to your doctor if you notice bloody stools or develop abdominal cramps. Stop taking Omnatax CV 200mg/125mg Tablet and inform your doctor immediately if you develop an itchy rash, swelling of the face, throat or tongue or breathing difficulties while taking it.
