How to take Oratil 500

Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Oratil 500 Tablet may be taken with or without food.

Take it exactly as your doctor prescribed. Do not change the dose or stop early on your own.

Missed dose and overdose

If you miss a dose

If you miss a dose of Oratil 500 Tablet, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.

If you take too much

An overdose of this medicine can cause vomiting, severe loose motions and, rarely, fits. Do not wait for symptoms to appear — go to the nearest emergency department and take the pack or strip with you.

Interactions with other medicines

Antacids, iron and zinc reduce absorption — separate them by a couple of hours. Tell your doctor if you take a blood thinner.

Store below 30°C in the original pack, away from direct sunlight and moisture. Keep out of the reach of children.

Complete the full course of Oratil 500 Tablet exactly as prescribed, even if you start feeling better. Stopping Oratil 500 Tablet early may allow the infection to return and become harder to treat. Diarrhea may occur while taking Oratil 500 Tablet; stay hydrated and consult your doctor if it becomes severe or persistent. Drink plenty of fluids if diarrhea occurs and watch for signs of dehydration. Stop taking Oratil 500 Tablet and seek immediate medical help if you develop a rash, itching, swelling of the face or mouth, or difficulty breathing. Inform your doctor if you have previously had allergic reactions to penicillin or cephalosporin antibiotics. Consult your doctor if symptoms do not improve within a few days of starting treatment. Report severe stomach pain, persistent vomiting, or signs of dehydration to your doctor promptly. Notify your doctor if you develop symptoms such as itching or discharge that may indicate a yeast infection after antibiotic use.
