Preega 75 Capsule contains Pregabalin 75 mg (capsule). It belongs to the Gabapentinoid (GABA analogue); alpha-2-delta calcium channel ligand class of medicines.

How Preega 75 Capsule works

Pregabalin binds to the alpha-2-delta subunit of voltage-gated calcium channels in the CNS, reducing release of excitatory neurotransmitters. This decreases abnormal nerve signaling and helps relieve neuropathic pain and seizures.

How to take Preega 75 Capsule

Take by mouth as prescribed, usually 1–2 times daily. May be taken with or without food; take at the same time each day and swallow the capsule whole. Do not stop suddenly—dose should be tapered on medical advice.

Take it exactly as your doctor prescribed. Do not change the dose or stop early on your own.

Missed dose and overdose

If you miss a dose

Take the missed dose of Preega as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for the next dose, skip the missed one and carry on with the usual schedule. Do not take two doses together to make up for a missed dose.

If you take too much

Taking more Preega than prescribed can be harmful. If you suspect an overdose, contact a doctor or go to the nearest emergency department at once, and carry the pack or strip with you. In India the emergency number is 112.

Side effects of Preega 75 Capsule

Most side effects of Preega are mild and settle as the body adjusts. Reported side effects include:

• Dizziness
• sleepiness (somnolence)
• blurred vision
• dry mouth
• weight gain
• peripheral edema (swelling)
• fatigue
• difficulty concentrating

Stop the medicine and seek help immediately for a rash, swelling of the face or lips, wheezing or difficulty breathing. Tell your doctor about any side effect that persists or worries you.

Warnings and precautions

May cause dizziness/somnolence—avoid driving or operating machinery until you know its effects. Do not stop abruptly (risk of withdrawal symptoms and seizure worsening). Use caution in kidney disease (dose adjustment needed). May cause edema and weight gain; use caution in heart failure. Rare mood changes/suicidal thoughts—seek medical help if symptoms occur. Risk of hypersensitivity/angioedema; discontinue and seek urgent care if facial swelling or breathing difficulty occurs.

Interactions with other medicines

Alcohol and other CNS depressants (increased sedation), opioids (increased risk of respiratory depression/constipation), benzodiazepines/sedatives (additive drowsiness), antihistamines with sedative effects, ACE inhibitors (may increase risk of angioedema)

Store below 25°C in a cool, dry place away from moisture and direct light. Keep out of reach of children.
