Composition

Potassium nitrate 5% w/w + Sodium monofluorophosphate 0.7% w/w (≈1000 ppm fluoride) in toothpaste base

Uses of Sensodent K Paste

Management of dentinal hypersensitivity (tooth sensitivity) to hot/cold/sweet/acidic stimuli; prevention of dental caries and strengthening of enamel as part of daily oral hygiene

How it works

Potassium nitrate reduces sensitivity by depolarizing nerve endings in exposed dentin, decreasing pain signal transmission. Sodium monofluorophosphate releases fluoride that enhances remineralization and makes enamel more resistant to acid attack, helping prevent cavities.

Directions for use

Toothpaste for topical dental use only. Brush teeth thoroughly for 2–3 minutes, twice daily (or as advised by dentist). Use a pea-sized amount; spit out after brushing and avoid swallowing. For children, use under adult supervision.
