Sporidex Drops 10 ml contains Cefalexin (Cephalexin) 125 mg/5 mL oral drops (approx; verify pack label). It belongs to the First-generation cephalosporin (beta-lactam antibiotic) class of medicines.
Cefalexin is a first-generation cephalosporin antibiotic. It kills bacteria by inhibiting bacterial cell wall synthesis, leading to cell lysis and death.
Oral drops: shake well before use, measure dose with the provided dropper/syringe. Give as prescribed by the doctor at evenly spaced intervals; can be taken with or without food (take with food if stomach upset). Complete the full course even if symptoms improve.
Take it exactly as your doctor prescribed. Do not change the dose or stop early on your own.
Take the missed dose of Sporidex as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for the next dose, skip the missed one and carry on with the usual schedule. Do not take two doses together to make up for a missed dose.
Taking more Sporidex than prescribed can be harmful. If you suspect an overdose, contact a doctor or go to the nearest emergency department at once, and carry the pack or strip with you. In India the emergency number is 112.
Most side effects of Sporidex are mild and settle as the body adjusts. Reported side effects include:
