How Statpure -A 10/75 mg Capsule works

Atorvastatin is an HMG‑CoA reductase inhibitor that reduces cholesterol synthesis and lowers LDL and triglycerides while modestly increasing HDL. Aspirin irreversibly inhibits COX‑1 in platelets, reducing thromboxane A2 formation and thereby preventing platelet aggregation and clot formation.

Take as prescribed by the doctor, usually once daily at the same time. Swallow the capsule whole with water; do not crush or chew (especially due to enteric-coated aspirin). Preferably take after food to reduce stomach upset unless advised otherwise.

Interactions with other medicines

Anticoagulants/antiplatelets (warfarin, heparin, clopidogrel, ticagrelor) and NSAIDs (ibuprofen, naproxen) increase bleeding risk; corticosteroids and SSRIs/SNRIs may increase GI bleed risk. Strong CYP3A4 inhibitors (clarithromycin, erythromycin, azole antifungals, HIV protease inhibitors, cobicistat) and grapefruit juice can increase atorvastatin levels and myopathy risk. Other lipid agents (gemfibrozil, fenofibrate, niacin) increase muscle risk. Methotrexate and valproate may have increased toxicity with aspirin; aspirin may reduce effect of some antihypertensives in high doses.
