Atorvastatin 40 mg + Ezetimibe 10 mg (per tablet)
Treatment of high cholesterol and mixed dyslipidemia; to reduce LDL cholesterol, total cholesterol and triglycerides when diet and exercise are insufficient; to help reduce cardiovascular risk in patients requiring intensive lipid lowering.
Atorvastatin inhibits HMG‑CoA reductase in the liver, reducing cholesterol synthesis and increasing LDL clearance. Ezetimibe blocks intestinal absorption of cholesterol at the brush border (NPC1L1), further lowering LDL. The combination provides additive LDL reduction versus either drug alone.
Oral tablet. Take exactly as prescribed, usually once daily at the same time, with or without food. Continue lipid‑lowering diet and exercise. If taking bile‑acid resins (e.g., cholestyramine), take this tablet at least 2 hours before or 4 hours after the resin.
Common side effects of STORVAS EZ 40MG TAB may include:
Do not use in active liver disease or unexplained persistent elevations of liver enzymes. Stop and seek medical advice if unexplained muscle pain/weakness occurs (risk of myopathy/rhabdomyolysis; higher with interacting drugs, older age, hypothyroidism, renal impairment). Liver function tests may be monitored. Use caution in heavy alcohol use. Not recommended in pregnancy; avoid breastfeeding. Grapefruit juice can increase atorvastatin levels—limit/avoid.
