Metoprolol succinate prolonged-release 50 mg (as Metoprolol)
Treatment of high blood pressure (hypertension), angina (chest pain), and to help control fast heart rate/arrhythmias; may be used in heart failure or after heart attack as prescribed.
Metoprolol is a cardioselective beta-1 blocker. It reduces heart rate and the force of contraction, lowering blood pressure and the heart’s oxygen demand, thereby helping relieve angina and controlling heart rhythm.
Take tablet by mouth exactly as prescribed, usually once daily for prolonged-release formulations. Swallow whole with water; do not crush or chew. Can be taken with or without food, preferably at the same time each day.
Common side effects of TELCURE BETA PLUS 50MG may include:
Do not stop suddenly (risk of rebound hypertension/angina). Use with caution in asthma/COPD, diabetes (may mask low sugar symptoms), low heart rate, heart block, severe peripheral vascular disease, liver impairment, and in heart failure unless stabilized. Monitor blood pressure and pulse regularly. Seek urgent help for severe dizziness/fainting, wheezing/shortness of breath, swelling, or very slow pulse.
