Thyroxine (100mcg)
Thyroneed 100 Tablet is used for treatment of hypothyroidism, thyroid hormone replacement after thyroidectomy or radioiodine therapy, TSH suppression in certain thyroid cancers/goitre (as prescribed).
Medically reviewed by Dr. Balaji Krishnan, MBBS · Updated August 2026
Thyroneed 100 Tablet contains Thyroxine (100mcg). It belongs to the Thyroid hormone (synthetic T4; levothyroxine) class of medicines.
Levothyroxine is a synthetic form of the thyroid hormone T4. It is converted to T3 in the body and restores normal thyroid hormone levels, helping regulate metabolism, energy, heart rate and body temperature.
Take orally once daily on an empty stomach, preferably in the morning 30–60 minutes before breakfast with water. Take at the same time each day; avoid taking with calcium/iron/antacids within 4 hours. Dose is individualized based on TSH/T4 and clinical response; do not stop or change dose without medical advice.
Take it exactly as your doctor prescribed. Do not change the dose or stop early on your own.
If you miss a dose of Thyroneed 100mcg Tablet, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.
Taking more Thyroneed than prescribed can be harmful. If you suspect an overdose, contact a doctor or go to the nearest emergency department at once, and carry the pack or strip with you. In India the emergency number is 112.
Most side effects of Thyroneed are mild and settle as the body adjusts. Reported side effects include:
Stop the medicine and seek help immediately for a rash, swelling of the face or lips, wheezing or difficulty breathing. Tell your doctor about any side effect that persists or worries you.
