Treatment of hypothyroidism, thyroid hormone replacement after thyroidectomy or radioiodine therapy, suppression of TSH in certain thyroid conditions as advised by doctor
Levothyroxine is a synthetic form of thyroxine (T4), a natural thyroid hormone. It is converted to the active hormone T3 in tissues and helps regulate metabolism, energy, heart rate and body temperature, correcting low thyroid hormone levels.
Tablet for oral use. Take once daily exactly as prescribed, preferably in the morning on an empty stomach (30–60 minutes before breakfast) with water. Avoid taking with calcium/iron/antacids/soy within 4 hours; do not stop or change dose without medical advice. Dose is individualized based on TSH/T4 levels.
Common side effects of THYROUP 100 may include:
Prescription medicine; dose must be individualized and monitored (TSH/T4). Overdose can cause symptoms of hyperthyroidism and serious cardiac effects. Use caution in patients with heart disease (angina, arrhythmias), elderly, adrenal insufficiency (must be treated first), and osteoporosis risk. Not for treatment of obesity/weight loss. If pregnant, thyroid hormone requirements may increase—monitor closely.
