Utb 360 Sachet contains Fructo Oligosaccharide (500mg) + Potassium Magnesium Citrate (978mg) + Lactobacillus Rhamnosus (2.5Billion CFU) + D-Mannose (250mg) + Lactobacillus Acidophilus (2.5Billion CFU) + Cranberry Extract (500mg). It belongs to the Gut protective / probiotic, Vitamin and mineral supplement, Urinary alkaliniser / supplement and Antioxidant / trace element supplement class of medicines.
This medicine combines 6 active ingredients: Fructo Oligosaccharide, Potassium Magnesium Citrate, Lactobacillus Rhamnosus, D-mannose, Lactobacillus Acidophilus and Cranberry Extract. Fructo Oligosaccharide supports the lining and the natural bacteria of the gut, helping digestion settle back to normal. Potassium Magnesium Citrate supplies a vitamin, mineral or nutrient that your diet may not be providing in sufficient amount. Lactobacillus Rhamnosus supports the lining and the natural bacteria of the gut, helping digestion settle back to normal. D-mannose makes the urine less acidic, which eases burning and discomfort while passing urine. Lactobacillus Acidophilus supports the lining and the natural bacteria of the gut, helping digestion settle back to normal. Cranberry Extract supplies a nutrient that helps protect body cells from everyday oxidative wear and supports normal immune function.
Empty the contents into a glass of water, stir until dissolved and drink it straight away. Do not keep a made-up dose for later. Take it with or after food. Follow the dose and the duration written on your prescription.
Take it exactly as your doctor prescribed. Do not change the dose or stop early on your own.
Take it as soon as you remember. If your next dose is almost due, skip the one you missed — never take two doses together to catch up.
An overdose of this medicine may cause bloating and loose motions. It can cause vomiting and stomach pain, and with iron can be dangerous, especially in children. It can disturb the body's salt balance and cause stomach upset. It can cause vomiting, stomach pain and, with some minerals, damage over the longer term. Do not wait for symptoms to appear — go to the nearest emergency department and take the pack or strip with you.

Loose motions with high fever, blood in the stool or severe abdominal pain need a doctor, not a home remedy. Oral rehydration salts and fluids matter more than any medicine when you have loose motions — dehydration is the real danger, especially in children and older people. Take a probiotic a couple of hours apart from an antibiotic so the antibiotic does not simply kill it. Do not use an anti-motility medicine such as loperamide if you have a fever or blood in the stool. A supplement is not a substitute for a balanced diet or for treating the cause of a symptom. Iron makes stools black and can cause constipation — this is expected, but tell your doctor if it troubles you. Keep iron-containing products well out of reach of children; an overdose in a small child is a medical emergency. Check the labels of everything you take so you do not double up on the same nutrient. This eases the symptoms; it does not treat a urinary infection. See a doctor if you have fever, back or flank pain, blood in the urine, or symptoms lasting more than a couple of days — an infection needs an antibiotic. Drink plenty of water throughout the day. Tell your doctor if you have kidney disease, heart failure or are on a salt-restricted diet; these preparations carry a sodium or potassium load. A supplement supports a normal diet; it does not prevent or treat infection. Zinc on an empty stomach commonly causes nausea — take it with food. Very high doses of vitamin A over a long period can be harmful, particularly in pregnancy. Do not take several products containing the same nutrient at once; the totals add up.
Not for anyone with a known allergy to this medicine or to any ingredient in the pack. Probiotics are used with caution in people whose immune system is significantly suppressed. Not for people with significant kidney disease or a high blood potassium level, without medical advice.
Antibiotics reduce the effect of probiotics taken at the same time. Iron, calcium, zinc and magnesium reduce the absorption of thyroid tablets and several antibiotics — separate them by a few hours. Tea and coffee taken with iron reduce how much is absorbed; vitamin C increases it. Changing the acidity of urine affects how some medicines are cleared — tell your doctor what you take. Zinc and other minerals reduce the absorption of some antibiotics — separate them by a few hours. Tell your doctor if you take a blood thinner, as high-dose vitamin E can add to its effect.
Store below 30°C in a dry place, away from direct sunlight. Some probiotic preparations ask to be refrigerated — follow the pack. Keep out of the reach of children.
Keep up fluids and oral rehydration salts. Return to a normal diet as soon as you can manage it. Take it with food unless the pack says otherwise. Have deficiencies confirmed and rechecked by blood test rather than supplementing indefinitely. Drink two to three litres of water a day unless your doctor has restricted fluids. Do not delay seeing a doctor if symptoms persist. Take it with food to reduce nausea. A varied diet remains the best source of these nutrients.
