Vildoha 50 mg Tablet contains Vildagliptin (50mg). It belongs to the DPP-4 inhibitor (gliptin) class of medicines.

How Vildoha 50 mg Tablet works

Vildagliptin is a DPP-4 inhibitor that increases levels of incretin hormones (GLP-1 and GIP). This enhances glucose-dependent insulin release and reduces glucagon secretion, helping lower blood glucose with a low risk of hypoglycaemia when used alone.

How to take Vildoha 50 mg Tablet

Oral tablet. Take as prescribed by the doctor, usually once or twice daily, with or without food. Swallow whole with water; take at the same time each day and continue diet/exercise plan.

Take it exactly as your doctor prescribed. Do not change the dose or stop early on your own.

Missed dose and overdose

If you miss a dose

If you miss a dose of Vildoha 50mg Tablet, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.

If you take too much

An overdose of this medicine may cause low blood sugar, particularly if you also take other diabetes medicines. Do not wait for symptoms to appear — go to the nearest emergency department and take the pack or strip with you.

Warnings and precautions

Not for type 1 diabetes or diabetic ketoacidosis. Monitor liver function before and during treatment; stop and seek medical advice if jaundice, dark urine, persistent nausea/vomiting, or right upper abdominal pain occur (risk of hepatitis). Use with caution in renal impairment; dose adjustment may be required. Rare risk of pancreatitis—seek urgent care for severe persistent abdominal pain. Hypoglycaemia risk increases when combined with sulfonylureas/insulin; dose adjustment may be needed. Caution in heart failure (especially if severe); use only on medical advice. Do not use if allergic to vildagliptin.

Not for anyone with a known allergy to this medicine or to any ingredient in the pack. Not for type 1 diabetes or for diabetic ketoacidosis.

Vildoha 50mg Tablet should be taken at the same time every day since this helps you remember to take it. It may cause hypoglycemia (low blood sugar level) when used with other antidiabetic medicines, alcohol or if you delay or miss a meal.
