Composition of Vilor F 100 Capsule

Vilor F 100 Capsule contains Fluconazole 100 mg (capsule). It belongs to the Triazole antifungal class of medicines.

How Vilor F 100 Capsule works

Fluconazole is an azole antifungal that inhibits fungal CYP450 enzyme (14-alpha demethylase), reducing ergosterol synthesis. This disrupts the fungal cell membrane and stops fungal growth.

How to take Vilor F 100 Capsule

Capsule to be taken by mouth as directed by the doctor; swallow whole with water. Can be taken with or without food; take at the same time each day if prescribed for multiple days. Complete the full course.

Take it exactly as your doctor prescribed. Do not change the dose or stop early on your own.

Missed dose and overdose

If you miss a dose

Take the missed dose of Vilor F as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for the next dose, skip the missed one and carry on with the usual schedule. Do not take two doses together to make up for a missed dose.

If you take too much

Taking more Vilor F than prescribed can be harmful. If you suspect an overdose, contact a doctor or go to the nearest emergency department at once, and carry the pack or strip with you. In India the emergency number is 112.

Side effects of Vilor F 100 Capsule

Most side effects of Vilor F are mild and settle as the body adjusts. Reported side effects include:

• abdominal pain
• diarrhea
• headache
• dizziness
• skin rash
• vomiting
• increased liver enzymes

Stop the medicine and seek help immediately for a rash, swelling of the face or lips, wheezing or difficulty breathing. Tell your doctor about any side effect that persists or worries you.

Safety advice for Vilor F 100 Capsule

Warnings and precautions

Use with caution in liver disease (may cause hepatitis/liver enzyme elevation) and in kidney impairment (dose adjustment may be needed). May prolong QT interval—use caution in heart rhythm disorders or with other QT-prolonging drugs. Stop and seek medical help if severe rash, blistering, jaundice, dark urine, or allergic reaction occurs. Not for self-medication; use only on prescription for appropriate fungal infections.

Interactions with other medicines

Warfarin/other anticoagulants (increased bleeding risk), phenytoin, carbamazepine, cyclosporine, tacrolimus, sulfonylureas (hypoglycemia risk), zidovudine, rifampicin, theophylline, statins (e.g., simvastatin/atorvastatin), benzodiazepines (e.g., midazolam), QT-prolonging drugs (e.g., amiodarone, certain macrolides/antipsychotics).

Store below 25°C in a cool, dry place. Protect from moisture and direct light. Keep out of reach of children.
