Voglibose (0.3mg)
Type 2 diabetes mellitus (post‑prandial/high after‑meal blood glucose) as an add‑on to diet and exercise; may be used with other antidiabetic medicines as prescribed.
Voglibose is an alpha‑glucosidase inhibitor that delays digestion and absorption of carbohydrates in the small intestine. This reduces the rise in blood glucose after meals and helps improve overall glycaemic control.
Oral tablet. Typically taken just before the start of meals (or with the first bite) as prescribed. Follow diet/exercise advice; do not skip meals after taking a dose.
Common side effects of Vogiformin 0.3 may include:
Use with caution in kidney or liver impairment. Not recommended in patients with inflammatory bowel disease, intestinal obstruction, colonic ulceration, or conditions that may worsen with increased intestinal gas. Risk of hypoglycaemia increases when used with insulin or sulfonylureas—treat low sugar with glucose/dextrose (not sucrose) and seek medical advice. Monitor blood glucose and HbA1c regularly.
