Voglibose (0.3mg)
Management of type 2 diabetes mellitus in adults when diet and exercise alone are not sufficient; helps control post-meal (postprandial) and fasting blood glucose.
Voglibose is an alpha‑glucosidase inhibitor that delays intestinal carbohydrate digestion and absorption, reducing post-meal glucose spikes. Metformin decreases glucose production in the liver and improves insulin sensitivity, helping lower fasting and overall blood glucose.
Oral tablet. Take exactly as prescribed. Typically taken with meals; voglibose-containing tablets are usually taken just before the first bite of food. Swallow with water; do not skip meals. Dose may be adjusted based on blood sugar and tolerability.

A substitute contains the same active ingredient (salt), in the same strength, as Voglistat M 0.3 Tab. The medicine inside is the same — the brand name, manufacturer and price are what differ.
All medicines sold in India, branded or generic, must meet the quality standards set by the national drug regulator (CDSCO). A lower price does not mean lower quality.
Please confirm with your doctor or pharmacist before switching brands — they will check that the strength and form match your prescription.
For type 2 diabetes only. Metformin may rarely cause lactic acidosis—risk increases with kidney disease, dehydration, severe infection, hypoxia/heart failure, liver disease, or excess alcohol; seek urgent care for rapid breathing, severe weakness, abdominal pain, or unusual sleepiness. Check kidney function before and during use; dose adjustment/avoid in significant renal impairment. Temporary stop may be needed before iodinated contrast studies or major surgery (as advised by doctor). Voglibose can cause gastrointestinal upset; start low and titrate. Risk of hypoglycaemia increases if used with insulin/sulfonylureas—monitor sugars; treat low sugar with glucose (dextrose) rather than sucrose as absorption may be delayed. Vitamin B12 levels may decrease with long-term metformin use.
