How Wokrise D3 Tablet works

Cholecalciferol is converted in the body to active vitamin D (calcitriol). It increases intestinal absorption of calcium and phosphate and supports bone mineralisation, helping correct vitamin D deficiency.

How to take Wokrise D3 Tablet

Tablet/oral use as prescribed by a doctor. Commonly taken once weekly or as directed; can be taken with or after food (preferably with a meal containing fat) to improve absorption. Swallow with water; do not exceed recommended dose.

Take it exactly as your doctor prescribed. Do not change the dose or stop early on your own.

Missed dose and overdose

If you miss a dose

If you miss a dose of WokRise D3 Softgel Capsule, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.

An overdose of this medicine can raise blood calcium dangerously, causing thirst, frequent urination, vomiting, confusion and kidney damage. Do not wait for symptoms to appear — go to the nearest emergency department and take the pack or strip with you.

Most side effects of Wokrise D3 are mild and settle as the body adjusts. Reported side effects include:

Warnings and precautions

Use with caution in kidney disease, history of kidney stones, hypercalcaemia, hypervitaminosis D, sarcoidosis or other granulomatous disorders. Excess dosing may cause hypercalcaemia with symptoms like confusion, severe nausea/vomiting, muscle weakness or irregular heartbeat—seek medical help. Monitor calcium, phosphate and renal function if on high-dose/long-term therapy.

Do not take Wokrise D3 if

Not for anyone with a known allergy to this medicine or to any ingredient in the pack. Not for people with a high blood calcium level, or with certain kidney stones.

Interactions with other medicines

Thiazide diuretics (risk of hypercalcaemia), digoxin/other cardiac glycosides (arrhythmia risk with high calcium), antiepileptics like phenytoin/carbamazepine and rifampicin (reduced vitamin D effect), corticosteroids (reduced vitamin D effect), cholestyramine/orlistat (reduced absorption), aluminium/magnesium antacids in renal impairment (toxicity risk), calcium supplements (additive hypercalcaemia risk)

Your doctor has prescribed WokRise D3 Softgel Capsule for the treatment of vitamin D3 deficiency. Take it as per the dose and duration suggested by your doctor. It should be taken with food for faster absorption of medicine. To help manage vitamin D deficiency, get 10–40 minutes of sun exposure 3 times a week (20–30 minutes for light skin, 30–40 for dark skin) and eat a vitamin D-rich diet including egg yolk, mushrooms, dairy, fortified foods, and oily fish. When taken at night, it might affect your sleep pattern. To avoid this, it is better to take it in the daytime. Do not take antacids or any other medication 2 hours before or after taking WokRise D3 Softgel Capsule. Inform your doctor if you notice nausea, vomiting, poor appetite, constipation, weakness, and weight loss while taking this medicine.
