Sitagliptin 50 mg + Metformin Hydrochloride 850 mg (as immediate-release tablet)

Uses of Zomelis Met 50/850MG Tab

Type 2 diabetes mellitus: to improve glycaemic control in adults when diet and exercise alone or metformin/sitagliptin monotherapy is inadequate.

• •Low risk of hypoglycaemia when not combined with insulin/sulfonylurea
• •Helps improve insulin sensitivity

How it works

Sitagliptin is a DPP-4 inhibitor that increases incretin hormones (GLP-1, GIP), leading to glucose-dependent increased insulin release and reduced glucagon. Metformin decreases hepatic glucose production and improves insulin sensitivity, reducing glucose absorption and improving peripheral uptake.

Directions for use

Take exactly as prescribed. Usually taken orally with meals to reduce stomach upset; swallow tablet whole with water. Do not crush/chew unless advised. Dose is individualized based on kidney function and blood sugar; follow your doctor’s schedule.
