Composition of Zoryl M 1 Tablet

Zoryl M 1 Tablet contains Dapagliflozin (10mg) + Glimepiride (2mg) + Metformin (1000mg). It belongs to the Sulfonylurea + Biguanide class of medicines.

How Zoryl M 1 Tablet works

Glimepiride (a sulfonylurea) increases insulin release from pancreatic beta cells and improves peripheral glucose utilization. Metformin SR (a biguanide) reduces hepatic glucose production and improves insulin sensitivity, helping lower fasting and post‑meal blood sugar.

How to take Zoryl M 1 Tablet

Take by mouth exactly as prescribed, usually once daily with breakfast or the first main meal. Swallow tablet whole (do not crush/chew due to sustained release). Monitor blood glucose regularly; follow diet and exercise advice.

Take it exactly as your doctor prescribed. Do not change the dose or stop early on your own.

Missed dose and overdose

If you miss a dose

If you miss a dose of Zoryl-M 2 Tablet PR, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.

If you take too much

An overdose of this medicine can cause dehydration and a fall in blood pressure. It can cause severe and prolonged low blood sugar, which may lead to fits or unconsciousness. It can cause a dangerous build-up of acid in the blood, with vomiting, severe weakness and laboured breathing. Do not wait for symptoms to appear — go to the nearest emergency department and take the pack or strip with you.

Side effects of Zoryl M 1 Tablet

Most side effects of Zoryl M are mild and settle as the body adjusts. Reported side effects include:

Warnings and precautions

Risk of hypoglycemia (higher with missed meals, alcohol, intense exercise, elderly); carry fast-acting glucose. Metformin can rarely cause lactic acidosis—seek urgent care for rapid breathing, severe weakness, abdominal pain, hypothermia. Avoid/use with caution in kidney impairment; periodic renal function tests needed. Use caution in liver disease, heart failure, dehydration, severe infection, or hypoxia. Temporarily stop before/after iodinated contrast procedures and major surgery as advised by doctor.

Do not take Zoryl M if

Not for anyone with a known allergy to this medicine or to any ingredient in the pack. Not for type 1 diabetes or for diabetic ketoacidosis. Not for people with severe kidney disease. Not for people with severe kidney or liver disease. Not for people with severe kidney disease, severe liver disease, or an acute illness causing dehydration. Not for people who have had diabetic ketoacidosis.

Interactions with other medicines

Alcohol (increases hypoglycemia/lactic acidosis risk), insulin/other antidiabetics (additive hypoglycemia), beta-blockers (mask hypoglycemia symptoms), corticosteroids/diuretics (raise glucose), ACE inhibitors (may enhance glucose-lowering), fluoroquinolones (dysglycemia), rifampicin (may reduce effect), cimetidine (may increase metformin levels), iodinated contrast media (risk of kidney injury/lactic acidosis)

How to store Zoryl M 1 Tablet

Store below 25°C in a dry place, protected from moisture and light. Keep in original blister pack and out of reach of children.

Expert advice for Zoryl M 1 Tablet

You should continue to exercise regularly, eat a healthy diet, and take your other diabetes medicines along with Zoryl-M 2 Tablet PR. Take it with food to lower your chance of having an upset stomach. Monitor your blood sugar level regularly while you are taking this medicine. It can cause hypoglycemia (low blood sugar level) when used with other antidiabetic medicines, alcohol or if you delay or miss a meal. Inform your doctor about your diabetes treatment if you are due to have surgery under a general anesthetic. Tell your doctor immediately if you experience any deep or rapid breathing or if you have persistent nausea, vomiting, and stomach pain as Zoryl-M 2 Tablet PR may cause a rare but serious condition called lactic acidosis, which is an excess of lactic acid in the blood. Your doctor may check your liver function regularly. Inform your doctor if you develop symptoms such as abdominal pain, loss of appetite, or yellowing of the eyes or skin (jaundice).
