Composition of Zoryl M D 2/1000 Tablet

Zoryl M D 2/1000 Tablet contains Glimepiride (2mg) + Metformin (1000mg) + Dapagliflozin (10mg). It belongs to the Sulfonylurea + Biguanide (combination) class of medicines.

How Zoryl M D 2/1000 Tablet works

Glimepiride (a sulfonylurea) increases insulin release from pancreatic beta cells and improves insulin sensitivity. Metformin (a biguanide) reduces hepatic glucose production and improves peripheral glucose uptake, lowering insulin resistance.

How to take Zoryl M D 2/1000 Tablet

Oral tablet. Take exactly as prescribed, usually once daily with the first main meal (to reduce stomach upset and risk of low sugar). Swallow whole; do not crush/chew if SR/ER. Monitor blood glucose regularly.

Take it exactly as your doctor prescribed. Do not change the dose or stop early on your own.

Missed dose and overdose

If you miss a dose

Take the missed dose of Zoryl M D 2/1000 as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for the next dose, skip the missed one and carry on with the usual schedule. Do not take two doses together to make up for a missed dose.

If you take too much

Taking more Zoryl M D 2/1000 than prescribed can be harmful. If you suspect an overdose, contact a doctor or go to the nearest emergency department at once, and carry the pack or strip with you. In India the emergency number is 112.

Side effects of Zoryl M D 2/1000 Tablet

Most side effects of Zoryl M D 2/1000 are mild and settle as the body adjusts. Reported side effects include:

• Hypoglycaemia
• nausea
• vomiting
• diarrhoea
• abdominal pain
• loss of appetite
• metallic taste
• dizziness
• headache

Stop the medicine and seek help immediately for a rash, swelling of the face or lips, wheezing or difficulty breathing. Tell your doctor about any side effect that persists or worries you.

Safety advice for Zoryl M D 2/1000 Tablet

Warnings and precautions

Risk of hypoglycaemia (especially with missed meals, alcohol, heavy exercise, elderly); carry glucose. Metformin can rarely cause lactic acidosis—risk increases with severe kidney disease, dehydration, sepsis, hypoxia, heart failure, liver disease, or excess alcohol; stop and seek care if rapid breathing, severe weakness, abdominal pain occur. Assess renal function before and during therapy; avoid if eGFR very low as per doctor. Temporarily stop metformin around iodinated contrast procedures or major surgery as advised. Use caution in G6PD deficiency (hemolysis risk with sulfonylureas).

Interactions with other medicines

Alcohol (increases hypoglycaemia and lactic acidosis risk), insulin/other antidiabetics (additive hypoglycaemia), beta-blockers (mask hypoglycaemia), corticosteroids/thiazide diuretics/thyroid hormones (raise glucose), ACE inhibitors (may enhance hypoglycaemia), NSAIDs/salicylates (increase sulfonylurea effect), rifampicin (reduce glimepiride effect), azole antifungals and macrolides (may increase sulfonylurea levels), iodinated contrast media (metformin—lactic acidosis risk), cimetidine (increases metformin levels)

How to store Zoryl M D 2/1000 Tablet

Store below 25°C in a dry place. Protect from moisture and direct light. Keep in original blister pack and out of reach of children.
