Glimepiride 1 mg + Metformin 500 mg (as Metformin hydrochloride)
Treatment of type 2 diabetes mellitus in adults when diet and exercise alone or monotherapy is insufficient; helps control high blood sugar.
Glimepiride is a sulfonylurea that stimulates the pancreas to release insulin and improves insulin utilization. Metformin reduces glucose production in the liver and improves insulin sensitivity, lowering blood glucose levels.
Take by mouth exactly as prescribed, usually once daily with breakfast or the first main meal to reduce stomach upset. Swallow the tablet as directed; do not skip meals to avoid low blood sugar. Dose is individualized based on blood glucose and tolerance.
Common side effects of ZORYL-MD 1/500MG TAB may include:
Risk of hypoglycaemia (higher with missed meals, excess exercise, alcohol, or other antidiabetics); monitor blood glucose regularly. Metformin may rarely cause lactic acidosis—seek urgent care for rapid breathing, severe weakness, unusual muscle pain, abdominal pain, or drowsiness; risk increases with kidney/liver disease, dehydration, severe infection, heart failure, or heavy alcohol use. Use with caution/avoid in significant renal impairment; kidney function should be checked before and during therapy. Withhold metformin temporarily around iodinated contrast studies and major surgery as advised by a doctor. Not for type 1 diabetes or diabetic ketoacidosis.
