Prazonic XL 5 Tablet is a prescription medicine containing Prazosin (5mg). It is used for high blood pressure. It belongs to the group of medicines called Cardiovascular agent.
Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. The dose and how long you take it depend on what you are being treated for and how you respond. Do not take more, or for longer, than your doctor has advised.
The side effects seen most often with Prazonic XL 5 Tablet are dizziness, headache, tiredness and nausea. Most are mild and settle as the body gets used to the medicine. Tell your doctor if one persists or worries you.
Before you start, tell your doctor about any liver, kidney or heart problem, whether you are pregnant, planning a pregnancy or breastfeeding, and every other medicine you take, including supplements and ayurvedic preparations. Some of them can change how Prazonic XL 5 Tablet works.
Prazonic XL-5 Tablet is used in the treatment of high blood pressure.
Most side effects of Prazonic XL are mild and settle as the body gets used to the medicine. The ones reported most often are:
Stop the medicine and get help at once for a rash, swelling of the face or lips, wheezing or difficulty breathing. Tell your doctor about any side effect that persists or worries you.
Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Prazonic XL-5 Tablet may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.
Prazonic XL-5 Tablet is an alpha blocker. It lowers blood pressure by relaxing blood vessels so that blood can flow more easily through the body. In benign prostate hyperplasia it relaxes the muscles in the prostate gland and make it easier to pass urine and reduce the need to urinate urgently or frequently.
Do not stop or change the dose of a heart medicine on your own. Report fainting, a very slow or very fast pulse, or new breathlessness. Keep every follow-up appointment — most of these medicines need periodic blood tests or an ECG.
Take it as soon as you remember. If your next dose is almost due, skip the one you missed — never take two doses together to catch up.
An overdose of this medicine can seriously disturb the heart's rhythm and blood pressure. Do not wait for symptoms to appear — go to the nearest emergency department and take the pack or strip with you.
