How Actiblok-Ipr 25 works

How to take Actiblok-Ipr 25

Take by mouth exactly as prescribed, usually once daily for prolonged-release tablets/capsules. Swallow whole; do not crush or chew. Can be taken with or after food at the same time each day.

Take it exactly as your doctor prescribed. Do not change the dose or stop early on your own.

Missed dose and overdose

If you miss a dose

Take it as soon as you remember. If your next dose is almost due, skip the one you missed — never take two doses together to catch up.

An overdose of this medicine can cause a dangerously slow heartbeat, a severe fall in blood pressure, wheezing and fits. Do not wait for symptoms to appear — go to the nearest emergency department and take the pack or strip with you.

Warnings and precautions

Use with caution in asthma/COPD (may cause bronchospasm), diabetes (can mask low-sugar symptoms), peripheral vascular disease, thyroid disorders, and in patients with slow pulse, heart block, or severe heart failure unless supervised by a doctor. Monitor blood pressure and pulse regularly.

Do not take Actiblok-Ipr if

Not for anyone with a known allergy to this medicine or to any ingredient in the pack. Not for people with a very slow heart rate, certain heart block disorders, or uncontrolled heart failure. Generally avoided in severe asthma.

Other antihypertensives (additive hypotension), calcium channel blockers like verapamil/diltiazem (bradycardia/heart block), digoxin (bradycardia), antiarrhythmics (e.g., amiodarone) (conduction disturbances), clonidine (rebound hypertension if withdrawn improperly), insulin/oral antidiabetics (masked hypoglycaemia), NSAIDs (may reduce BP-lowering effect), CYP2D6 inhibitors (e.g., fluoxetine, paroxetine, quinidine) (increased metoprolol levels)
