Altoran Ch 6.25 mg Tablet contains Chlorthalidone 6.25 mg. It belongs to the Thiazide-like diuretic class of medicines.

How Altoran Ch 6.25 mg Tablet works

Chlorthalidone is a thiazide-like diuretic. It increases excretion of sodium and water from the kidneys, reducing blood volume and lowering blood pressure; it also helps reduce swelling due to fluid overload.

How to take Altoran Ch 6.25 mg Tablet

Take by mouth exactly as prescribed, usually once daily in the morning (to avoid night-time urination). Can be taken with or without food. Do not stop abruptly without medical advice; follow regular BP and electrolyte monitoring.

Take it exactly as your doctor prescribed. Do not change the dose or stop early on your own.

Missed dose and overdose

Warnings and precautions

Use with caution in kidney or liver impairment, diabetes, gout, dehydration, and in elderly patients. Inform doctor if you have sulfonamide allergy (cross-sensitivity possible).

Interactions with other medicines

Lithium (toxicity risk), digoxin (arrhythmias with low potassium), NSAIDs (reduced antihypertensive effect, kidney risk), corticosteroids/amphotericin B (increased hypokalemia), other antihypertensives (additive hypotension), antidiabetic medicines (may raise glucose), alcohol (adds dizziness/low BP)

Store at room temperature (below 25°C), protected from moisture and light. Keep in original pack and out of reach of children.
