A substitute contains the same active ingredient (salt), in the same strength, as Ascoril SF Expectorant Sugar Free. The medicine inside is the same — the brand name, manufacturer and price are what differ.
All medicines sold in India, branded or generic, must meet the quality standards set by the national drug regulator (CDSCO). A lower price does not mean lower quality.
Please confirm with your doctor or pharmacist before switching brands — they will check that the strength and form match your prescription.
Schedule H: use under medical supervision. Use with caution in heart disease, arrhythmias, hypertension, hyperthyroidism, diabetes, seizure disorders, peptic ulcer, and in elderly. May cause dizziness/tremor—avoid driving if affected. Seek medical help if wheezing worsens, severe palpitations/chest pain occur, or cough persists >7 days, is recurrent, or is accompanied by fever, rash or persistent headache. Not meant for dry cough unless prescribed.
