Oral iron supplements replenish body iron stores needed to make hemoglobin in red blood cells. This improves oxygen-carrying capacity and helps reduce symptoms like tiredness and weakness.
Shake well before use. Take the prescribed dose using a measuring cup/spoon. Preferably take on an empty stomach or after food if it causes gastric upset; avoid taking with tea/coffee, milk, or antacids close to the dose (keep a 2-hour gap).
Common side effects of BEFER SYRUP may include:
Do not use in iron overload states (e.g., hemochromatosis/hemosiderosis) or non–iron-deficiency anemia unless prescribed. Keep out of reach of children—accidental iron overdose can be fatal. Use with caution in peptic ulcer disease, inflammatory bowel disease, liver disease; may stain teeth—rinse mouth after dose. If severe stomach pain, persistent vomiting, or allergic reaction occurs, seek medical help.
