Composition of Bioher Capsule

Bioher Capsule contains Acetylcysteine (50mg) + Biotin (5mg) + Vitamin E (25IU) + Calcium Pantothenate (100mg) + Selenium (65mcg) + Copper (3mg) + Zinc Oxide (22.5mg). It belongs to the Vitamins, antioxidants and trace elements combination; mucolytic/antioxidant (acetylcysteine) class of medicines.

How Bioher Capsule works

Biotin and calcium pantothenate support keratin infrastructure and normal hair/nail growth. Zinc, selenium, copper and vitamin E provide antioxidant and micronutrient support important for follicle function and pigmentation. Acetylcysteine replenishes intracellular glutathione and reduces oxidative stress, which may help protect hair follicles.

How to take Bioher Capsule

Capsule for oral use. Take 1 capsule once daily after food (or as directed by a physician). Swallow whole with water; do not crush or chew.

Take it exactly as your doctor prescribed. Do not change the dose or stop early on your own.

Missed dose and overdose

If you miss a dose

Take it as soon as you remember. If your next dose is almost due, skip the one you missed — never take two doses together to catch up.

If you take too much

An overdose of this medicine can cause vomiting, severe drowsiness, a racing heart and, with codeine, dangerously slow breathing. It is unlikely to cause serious harm, because the body passes surplus B vitamins out in the urine. It can cause vomiting, stomach pain and, with some minerals, damage over the longer term. It can cause vomiting and stomach pain, and with iron can be dangerous, especially in children. It is unlikely from skin use; swallowing the preparation may cause stomach upset. Do not wait for symptoms to appear — go to the nearest emergency department and take the pack or strip with you.

Most side effects of Bioher are mild and settle as the body adjusts. Reported side effects include:

Warnings and precautions

For nutritional supplementation only; not a substitute for a balanced diet. Use with caution in people with asthma or history of bronchospasm (acetylcysteine), peptic ulcer/GERD, or known hypersensitivity to any ingredient. Do not exceed recommended dose; long-term high-dose zinc may cause copper deficiency. If pregnant, breastfeeding, on chronic medicines, or if hair loss is sudden/severe (possible medical causes like thyroid/anaemia), consult a doctor.

Do not take Bioher if

Not for anyone with a known allergy to this medicine or to any ingredient in the pack. Codeine-containing preparations are not for children, or for anyone with breathing difficulty. Not for use on broken or infected skin unless prescribed.

Interactions with other medicines

Tetracycline/quinolone antibiotics (zinc reduces absorption; separate by 2–4 hours), Levothyroxine (separate by at least 4 hours), Penicillamine (separate by at least 2 hours), Iron/calcium/magnesium supplements (may reduce mutual absorption; separate dosing), Anticoagulants/antiplatelets such as warfarin (vitamin E may increase bleeding risk at higher doses; monitor if used)

Store below 25°C in a cool, dry place. Protect from light and moisture. Keep out of reach of children.

Drink plenty of water — it thins mucus better than any syrup. Steam inhalation helps congestion and costs nothing. Measure the dose with the cup supplied. A supplement corrects a deficiency; it is not a general energy tonic. If you are on it for nerve symptoms, keep your review appointment so the underlying cause is looked for. Take it with food to reduce nausea. A varied diet remains the best source of these nutrients. Take it with food unless the pack says otherwise.
