Budesonide 200 mcg per metered dose inhalation aerosol
Maintenance treatment of asthma; prevention of asthma symptoms and exacerbations. Also used as maintenance therapy in COPD where inhaled corticosteroid is indicated.
Budesonide is an inhaled corticosteroid that reduces inflammation and swelling in the airways. This decreases airway hyper‑responsiveness and helps prevent wheezing, breathlessness and asthma attacks with regular use.
For inhalation use only. Use exactly as prescribed; typically used regularly (once or twice daily) as a maintenance inhaler, not for immediate relief of acute attack. Shake inhaler well, exhale fully, inhale deeply while pressing the canister, hold breath ~10 seconds, then exhale. Rinse mouth/gargle with water after each use to reduce oral thrush. Use a spacer if advised.
Common side effects of BUDATE 200 INHALER 1`S may include:
Not for sudden breathing problems/status asthmaticus—use a rescue bronchodilator as prescribed. Rinse mouth after use to prevent oral fungal infection. Use with caution in active/latent tuberculosis, untreated systemic infections, and in patients with glaucoma/cataract risk. Long-term/high-dose use may cause adrenal suppression, reduced bone mineral density, growth suppression in children, or increased risk of pneumonia in COPD—use the lowest effective dose and monitor if on prolonged therapy. Do not stop abruptly without medical advice.
