Vitamin C supplementation to prevent or treat vitamin C deficiency; supports immunity and recovery during common cold and infections; antioxidant support.
Vitamin C (ascorbic acid) is an essential water‑soluble vitamin and antioxidant. It supports collagen synthesis, wound healing, and helps protect cells from oxidative damage while supporting immune function.
Take by mouth as directed by a physician. Generally taken once daily after food; swallow tablet with water. Do not exceed the recommended daily dose.
Take it exactly as your doctor prescribed. Do not change the dose or stop early on your own.
Take the missed dose of C Mus as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for the next dose, skip the missed one and carry on with the usual schedule. Do not take two doses together to make up for a missed dose.
Taking more C Mus than prescribed can be harmful. If you suspect an overdose, contact a doctor or go to the nearest emergency department at once, and carry the pack or strip with you. In India the emergency number is 112.
Most side effects of C Mus are mild and settle as the body adjusts. Reported side effects include:
Stop the medicine and seek help immediately for a rash, swelling of the face or lips, wheezing or difficulty breathing. Tell your doctor about any side effect that persists or worries you.
| Pregnancy | Generally safe (within recommended dietary allowance); consult doctor for high doses |
|---|---|
| Alcohol | Use with caution (excess alcohol can reduce vitamin C levels) |
| Habit forming | No |
Use with caution in patients with kidney disease or history of kidney stones (high doses may increase oxalate). Consult a doctor if you have iron overload disorders (e.g., hemochromatosis/thalassemia) as vitamin C can increase iron absorption. Stop and seek medical advice if allergic reactions occur.
warfarin (possible effect on anticoagulation at high doses), iron supplements (increased absorption), aluminium-containing antacids (increased aluminium absorption), deferoxamine (may increase iron toxicity), certain chemotherapy agents (antioxidant interaction—consult oncologist)
Store in a cool, dry place away from moisture and direct sunlight. Keep tightly closed and out of reach of children.
