Candid V3 Tablet contains Clotrimazole (200mg). It belongs to the Imidazole antifungal class of medicines.

How Candid V3 Tablet works

Clotrimazole is an imidazole antifungal that inhibits ergosterol synthesis in fungal cell membranes. This increases membrane permeability and leads to leakage of cell contents, stopping fungal growth and clearing infection.

How to take Candid V3 Tablet

For intravaginal use only. Insert 1 vaginal tablet high into the vagina at bedtime for 3 consecutive nights, or as directed by a doctor. Wash hands before and after use; use an applicator if provided. Avoid use during menstruation; complete the full course even if symptoms improve.

Take it exactly as your doctor prescribed. Do not change the dose or stop early on your own.

Missed dose and overdose

If you miss a dose

If you miss a dose of Candid-V3 Tablet VT, use it as soon as you remember. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and resume your regular schedule. Do not use extra to make up for a missed dose.

If you take too much

An overdose of this medicine is unlikely from skin use; swallowing the preparation may cause stomach upset. Do not wait for symptoms to appear — go to the nearest emergency department and take the pack or strip with you.

Side effects of Candid V3 Tablet

Most side effects of Candid V3 are mild and settle as the body adjusts. Reported side effects include:

• Vaginal burning
• irritation
• itching
• redness
• abdominal/pelvic cramps
• increased urination
• mild rash

Stop the medicine and seek help immediately for a rash, swelling of the face or lips, wheezing or difficulty breathing. Tell your doctor about any side effect that persists or worries you.

Warnings and precautions

Not for oral use. Consult a doctor if symptoms persist/return frequently, if you have fever, foul-smelling discharge, lower abdominal pain, or suspected STI. Avoid sexual intercourse or use barrier contraception during treatment; clotrimazole may reduce reliability of latex condoms/diaphragms during and up to a few days after use. Use with caution in pregnancy (especially first trimester) and prefer medical advice; avoid applicator in pregnancy unless advised. Stop and seek medical help if severe irritation or allergic reaction occurs.

Do not take Candid V3 if

Not for anyone with a known allergy to this medicine or to any ingredient in the pack. For external use only. Not for use in the eyes.

Interactions with other medicines

May reduce effectiveness of latex condoms/diaphragms. Concurrent intravaginal products (spermicides, douches) may affect efficacy; avoid unless advised. (Systemic interactions are unlikely due to minimal absorption.)

How to store Candid V3 Tablet

Store below 25°C in a dry place, protected from light and moisture. Keep out of reach of children.

Expert advice for Candid V3 Tablet

It is advisable not to use this product if you are on your period. Start the treatment once your period has finished. You may feel better after 2-3 days of treatment. If your symptoms do not improve or get worse, call your doctor. It is better to avoid intercourse or use other vaginal products (such as tampons, spermicides) during your treatment. Candid-V3 Tablet VT may make condoms and diaphragms less effective at preventing pregnancy or sexually transmitted diseases. Talk to your doctor about other forms of protection/birth control. Tell your doctor if you are pregnant, plan to become pregnant, or are breastfeeding. Inform your doctor if you have a previous history of sexually transmitted disease. Do not skip any doses and finish the full course of treatment even if you feel better. Few tips to prevent infection: Keep your feet clean and dry, particularly between the toes. Cut your nails short and prefer open-toe shoes for everyday use. Keep your vagina clean and dry. Use a separate clean towel for the infected area. Take a shower with antifungal soap after gyming or severe sweating. Never share your socks, shoes, and towel with others. Apply a sufficient amount to cover the affected area and 1 inch of the immediate surrounding skin. Avoid getting it in the eyes, nose, or mouth. If accidental exposure occurs, rinse immediately with plenty of water. Inform your doctor if the infection does not clear up even after four weeks of treatment. Inform your doctor if you are pregnant, planning pregnancy, or breastfeeding. If used topically on the nipple area, wash breasts before feeding your child. Do not apply Candid-V3 Tablet VT on cuts or burns. Keep away from children. Your doctor has prescribed Candid-V3 Tablet VT to cure your infection and improve symptoms. Do not skip any doses and finish the full course of treatment even if you feel better.
