How Candid V6 Tablet works

Clotrimazole is an imidazole antifungal that inhibits synthesis of ergosterol, an essential component of fungal cell membranes. This increases membrane permeability leading to leakage of cellular contents and death of the fungus.

How to take Candid V6 Tablet

For intravaginal use only. Insert 1 vaginal tablet high into the vagina once daily at bedtime for 6 consecutive nights (or as prescribed). Use with the applicator if provided; wash hands before and after use. Complete the full course even if symptoms improve; avoid use during menstruation if possible and consult doctor if symptoms persist.

Take it exactly as your doctor prescribed. Do not change the dose or stop early on your own.

Missed dose and overdose

If you miss a dose

If you miss a dose of Candid-V 6 Tablet ER, use it as soon as you remember. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and resume your regular schedule. Do not use extra to make up for a missed dose.

If you take too much

Taking more Candid V6 than prescribed can be harmful. If you suspect an overdose, contact a doctor or go to the nearest emergency department at once, and carry the pack or strip with you. In India the emergency number is 112.

Side effects of Candid V6 Tablet

Most side effects of Candid V6 are mild and settle as the body adjusts. Reported side effects include:

• Vaginal burning
• irritation
• itching
• redness
• pelvic/abdominal cramps
• increased urination
• mild vaginal discharge

Stop the medicine and seek help immediately for a rash, swelling of the face or lips, wheezing or difficulty breathing. Tell your doctor about any side effect that persists or worries you.

Safety advice for Candid V6 Tablet

Warnings and precautions

Not for oral use. Do not use if allergic to clotrimazole/imidazoles. Consult a doctor before use if pregnant, if this is the first vaginal infection, if symptoms recur frequently (e.g., ≥2 episodes in 6 months), or if there is fever, foul-smelling discharge, lower abdominal pain, genital ulcers or bleeding. Avoid sexual intercourse during treatment; clotrimazole may weaken latex condoms/diaphragms—use alternative contraception for several days after treatment. Seek medical advice if no improvement in 3 days or not resolved in 7 days.

Interactions with other medicines

May reduce efficacy of polyene antifungals (e.g., nystatin, amphotericin B) when used together intravaginally; clotrimazole may increase tacrolimus/sirolimus levels when used systemically (interaction unlikely with vaginal use but caution advised in transplant patients).

How to store Candid V6 Tablet

Store below 25°C in a dry place, protected from light and moisture. Keep out of reach of children.

Expert advice for Candid V6 Tablet

It is advisable not to use this product if you are on your period. Start the treatment once your period has finished. You may feel better after 2-3 days of treatment. If your symptoms do not improve or get worse, call your doctor. It is better to avoid intercourse or use other vaginal products (such as tampons, spermicides) during your treatment. Candid-V 6 Tablet ER may make condoms and diaphragms less effective at preventing pregnancy or sexually transmitted diseases. Talk to your doctor about other forms of protection/birth control. Tell your doctor if you are pregnant, plan to become pregnant, or are breastfeeding. Inform your doctor if you have a previous history of sexually transmitted disease. Do not skip any doses and finish the full course of treatment even if you feel better. Few tips to prevent infection: Keep your feet clean and dry, particularly between the toes. Cut your nails short and prefer open-toe shoes for everyday use. Keep your vagina clean and dry. Use a separate clean towel for the infected area. Take a shower with antifungal soap after gyming or severe sweating. Never share your socks, shoes, and towel with others. Apply a sufficient amount to cover the affected area and 1 inch of the immediate surrounding skin. Avoid getting it in the eyes, nose, or mouth. If accidental exposure occurs, rinse immediately with plenty of water. Inform your doctor if the infection does not clear up even after four weeks of treatment. Inform your doctor if you are pregnant, planning pregnancy, or breastfeeding. If used topically on the nipple area, wash breasts before feeding your child. Do not apply Candid-V 6 Tablet ER on cuts or burns. Keep away from children. Your doctor has prescribed Candid-V 6 Tablet ER to cure your infection and improve symptoms.
